PhD JuanFra Alvarado Valenzuela

JuanFra Alvarado Valenzuela, sociologist, is a researcher at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences with a project focused on entrepreneurial stories of failure and recovery. He has conducted research-related and policy-making activities for the past 12 years while working for NGO’s, consultancy bureaus and governmental institutions. He obtained his PhD in a Joint Program by the universities of Milan and Brescia in Italy and the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands; his project investigated the role of innovation and social networks of migrant entrepreneurs in both countries. Alongside research activities, he is involved in the dissemination of academic knowledge to policymakers through projects with the Municipality of Amsterdam, GAK Institute, the Metropolis Project, and the IMISCOE Network.
